Last Day of Freedom

This is what happens when i have 13 days off and a free pay check. I went a bit crazy on the dvd purchases this week . Good thing is I now have all 7 seasons of Golden Girls ( Yes I know ..HOW GAY!) but also got Season 2 Heroes and Season 1 of Samantha Who?.
Speaking of Heroes I thought last nights debut of season 3 was awesome. I think they are returning to the formula they used in season 1 and i am glad for that. I cant wait to see who will remain a Hero and who will become a villian.
Another show we are watching is Fringe. Excellent show. Sort of X Files - ish . I think it will last this season.
Well I am sad to report this is my last day of vacation. back to work tomorrow at 9 am. I am not looking forward to it but you gotta do what ya gotta do. I did get alot accomplished on the vacation . The main one was the move wich is all done and everything is now in its right place. We went over today to the old apt. to vacuum and turn in my keys. So I am now done with that hell hole. Many thanks to the Bf and his roomie for the help they gave me on moving day. Even after the bf injured himself twice. Poor Lil guy. Its so nice to be somewhere and actually feel like its home not someplace you can't wait to escape. Yup I ain't going anywhere for a while !

All That Jaz

This is the new lady in my life. Miss Jaz Kitty. As I mentioned in the last post the BF got her for me as a house warming present. She and I are getting along just fine and she is adapting well. She loves to sleep under the futon and lay in the sun by the patio doors. She does get quite frisky at night though. Likes to scratch the bed and play in the blinds and watch me in the shower ( Naughty Girl!). I believe me and Miss Jaz will be together for a long time!

Kiss My Furry Cheeks

Today is my last day at my apartment. i have been here two years and that is about 18 months too long. My time spent here has not been exactly a happy one. I have had problems since day one basically. The air conditioning never worked properly, I have had terrible neighbors every time and the management here sucks. They never cared about their tennants. So now I am moving to a much better complex. I will have excellent air ( I know this cause the bf lives in the same complex), my own balconly and a washer and dryer. I am so excited. The U haul is parked outside just waniting to be used. 13 more hours and it will be.
Also for a house warming present the bf got me a kitty. We adopted her from an organization here called HALO. Her name is Jaz and she is adorable. Very frisky. i will post pics of here when i get settled from the move. Wish me luck!

The Doctor ,Rose, And Me

Before I moved to Phoenix I really didn't watch that much TV so when I got here the Bf introduced me to some shows that I had missed. Some I really enjoyed such as Gilmore Girls, Dexter and now Doctor Who. I have never been a big Sci Fi kind of guy. He tried to get me to watch Battlestar Gallactica but I just couldn't really get into it so when he had me start watching Doctor Who I was a bit timid. We have just finished watching the first 2 seasons and all I have to say is that I am hooked!!! It has become one of my fave shows at the moment. The finale of the second season actually made me tear up. I cried at a Sci Fi show!!!! I can't wait for season 3.

Would You Like Some Cheese With Your Whine?

Everybody who knows me knows what a huge Madonna fan I am. Every CD, DVD or Book I am there on release day money in hand. So with out any hesitation I bought "Life With My Sister Madonna" by Christopher Ciccone. I must say this guy is a whiner. All he does is complains about the treatment his sister has given him over there working relationship. He constantly complains that she fails to pay him for decorating jobs he has done on her homes yet every time he is asked to do another he is right there swatches in hand. In the beginning of the book Christopher states that he wants to separate himself and be know for himself as an individual not Madonna's brother. Hmmm nothing separates yourself from a person like writing a book about them . What a dumb ass. He tries to play himself off as having all these celeb friends whom he probably would not have if it was not for his sister. I just can't stand people who would sell out family for a buck. to me that is the ultimate betrayal.
Continuing on the Madonna theme. Novemeber 6th, 2008 Los Angeles Dodgers Stadium . Sticky and Sweet Tour. Bf and I will be there and it is my first Madonna concert EVER. Bf had seen the Who's That Girl Tour so this is his second. I am Soooooooooooooooo excited!!!!

Why So Serious?

Yesterday the Bf and I went to see the Dark Knight and all I have to say is WOW!!!! To me it is the best Batman movie ever made. Heath Ledger owned the part of the Joker completely surpassing Jack. Best film of the summer.
In other news I was transferred to another store last week. My new store is twice as far from my apartment as the one but I do like it. It is much slower pace and the staff seems cool. I now have a female manager and she seems nice but i have also heard other things about her so we will see.

Showing Our Colors

Last night the BF and I went to the True Colors concert at the Dodge Theater here in Phoenix. We attend last year at the one in LA. The concert was fantastic this year. The line up was The Puppini sisters (Very 1940"s sound), Wanda Sykes ( She ROCKED!!) Joan Jett and The Blackhearts (Poor Joan kept getting shocked by her mike) Andy Bell of Erasure, The B-52's, and of course Cyndi Lauper. Carson Kressly was the host of the event. The concert helps bring awareness to gay rights and raises money for the HRC, Pflag, The Matthew Sheppard Foundation and others. If you have the chance you should go and see the concert. It is awesome.
On other news I finally got my car back last week. Let me tell you I will never take my car back to that place ever again. First they kept changing the date of whenI would get my car back, then when I go there the price was 100 dollars more than they told me and lastly some items I had forgotten to take out of my car when they towed it had sudden disappeared. The Bastards!!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK/BAD LUCK

Finally after 2 years in Phoenix I finally got a car last Tuesday. I got a 2006 Chevy Colbalt Lt I call Lola. Ever since I have moved here my life has improved greatly. I have a great boyfriend, have my own apartment, and a good paying job. I had none of those in Kansas. I was so happy to get my car and then..........
Last night I was leaving the BF's Apartment complex when BANG , some ass hit my car on the drivers side front wheel. The guy acted very strange, begging me not to call the police. he wanted me to come to his place ( which ironically is the same complex I live in) and he give me cash for the damages. I was like ummm no way and had the bf call the police. Well they said since it happened on private property the couldn't do anything and we had to call the insurance company and that is what we did. So Miss Lola now sits at the body shop waiting for the insurance adjuster from his insurance to come and take a look. The tow truck driver said it looked like the ball joint was broken. Hopefully the insurance won't be difficult and i can get my car back as sson as possible. Until then it looks like The BF is my chauffer once again!

Movin' On Up

Well finally after 2 years with the company and a year after applying for the position, I was promoted to Asst. Store Manager last week. It is exciting yet nerve racking. you are kind of in a limbo state. You have to go to one store to train and you really don't know which store you will be assigned to until the end of your training. They never put you in the store that you originally came from. I miss my co workers there. They pay is a 60% increase from what I used to make. I actually never had made that much per hour before. It is going to hopefully improve my life financially and I won't be so tight for money every pay day. So YAY!!! for that.

Cloverfield

Me and the BF went and saw Cloverfield today and I have to say it was a pretty amazing film. Once the action started it was nonstop to the end. I also like how they kept certain things a surprise. This is one film I will definately buy when out on dvd.

Last night was the Oscars and as per tradition the bf and I watched. Even though the show was near 4 hours it didn't seem to drag as it has before. I thought Ellen did and excellent job as host. Death Of A Wanna Be Goddess

Like everyone else in the world I was shocked to learn about the death of Anna Nicole Smith yesterday. Anna was one of those women that either you loved her or hated her. She had been labled so many things in life. Gold-digger, Grieving widow, nut, Good mother, Whore, and survivor. In what ever way you thought of Anna, the passing of a life so young is still a sad event. May you rest in peace Anna.

The First Week

So I now have been in Phoenix for one week and everything is going well. I met the BFs roomie and he is very nice. It is just good to be with my baby and know that neither one of us has to leave. I had a job interview today at Walgreens and we looked at an apartment for me just down the street from him. So things are looking up. Just cant wait to get on my feet and independant again but until then I am not complaining about spending my days with the man I love

LET'S ROLL

The day has arrived. I am all packed and ready for the morning flight to Phoenix. It has been a very busy day. Arose early did my luandry and packed . Spent the afternoon with my family and went to say good bye to my friend Diana (who started crying) came home did the final cleaning and now I am just taking a few minutes to myself before going to bed. Got to be up at 4 am in the morning to get ready. My sister is picking me up at 5 so we should get the airport at 630ish. I know she and my mom will break into tears which will probably make me do so. I know its sounds bad but I just want to get the good byes done and over with quickly. I am not a fan of long drawn out goodbyes. My flight leaves at 820am and I arrive in Phoenix at 916 their time. So this time tomorrow I will be with my baby and there will be no other place I would want to be.

The Dawning Of the End

I am on the dawning of my last weekend here in Kansas. 3 more days and I will be on my way to Phoenix and to my Baby. I can not believe the time has gone so fast. My last day at work was last Friday. It feels odd not getting up at 430 am and getting ready to head off for the day. I will not miss the job so much as the people I worked with. Some of them have become great friends that I will keep in contact with. Other not so much. I really did not think I would get sad about leaving but at times I do get a little twinge in my heart. After all this was home for almost 3 years. Alot has happened to me here and alot of personal growth had occured but alas I found love and my life needs to run the course set for it. Kansas you have been my home 3 times in my life and I know if all else fails you will be here with open arms if ever I come back like a mother waiting for her child. For all the lessons I have learned in these borders I would not change a thing. Good or Bad. Kansas I thank you.

Near Misses With The Queen

Everybody who knows me knows that I am a huge Madonna fan. I am there at the store on the release date for every cd or dvd. I have been asked why I love her so much and oddly I can not really answer that. Her music has become the soundtrack to my life. "Live To Tell" reminds me of being gay in high school and longing for the day I could be myself. "Erotica" reminds me of my slut phase. "Oh Father" of my childhood. "Nothing Fails" describes exactly what I feel for my boyfriend. The list could go on and on. Unfortunately I have never seen my goddess live. When I lived in South Florida "The Drowned World" tour came through but I could not afford to go. I had no sooner moved "The Reinvention" tour came through. Now Madge is once again taking it on the road. "The Confessions" tour is now playing in the U.S. and she is coming to Phoenix!!!! Bad thing is she will be there 3 days BEFORE I arrive. Am I destined to never see her live? The Boyfriend has ( though he saw the worst tour of her career in my opinion. The "Who's That Girl" tour. Jealous maybe but I digress) There are rumors that either HBO or NBC will air the concert. I am really hoping its HBO because NBC will have to edit alot and whats the point then? So once again I will be on the sofa seeing my girl but as God as my witness one day I will be in the same building as She singing every word right with her. Only then can I die truely happy.

T-Minus 14 Days...

Well in two weeks I will bid farewell to the state of Kansas and hello to Arizona. I can not believe the time has moved so quickly. When the BF and I discussed me moving to be with him it seemed so far. Now it is right around the corner. Unfortunatley my procrastination needs to be discarded and I need to step in packing gear. I am shipping most of my belongings via UPS ( I dont have alot) and so far i have only sent 2 boxes. It's hard for a pack rat like me to go through and toss out things. I want to take everything but can't so I have to decide what is important or irreplaceable. Good thing is that my last day at the job is Friday so i will have a little over a week to get it all done. Until then stress level very high.
