Madonna Monday

15 years ago Madonna released "Human Nature" from the album "Bedtime Stories". This is one of my favorite Madonna songs and videos. The song is in response to all the guff Madge received from the whole "Sex" book, "Body Of Evidence" film and the "Erotica" album era. The single only peaked at #46 in the US. Madonna has performed the song on two tours. "Drowned World" and "Sticky And Sweet". I think her line at the end of the video truly sums up Madonna's attitude to those who critize her career. "Absolutely no regrets"

Bears Everywhere

Yesterday David and I decided to get of the house and walk around boystown. It was a nice day out . We went to Borderline Music which has a TON of Madonna stuff which if you no me is like crack to me. I saw so much stuff that I was drooling. Once I start making money. my ass will return and do some damage there. We went to Brown Elephant which is kind of like the gay Goodwill store. I mean they sell everything there even used porn. The grossest thing was they were selling second hand cock rings. Ewwww! We stopped at Sidetracks for a frozen alcoholic beverage. Walked around some more then came home and went for Chinese food. The thing about Boystown is when you usually go you usually see the twinkie , young, preppy kind of guys but this weekend was Bear Pride so the bears were out full force. Now I don't classify myself in anyone of the many gay culture sub cultures. I guess if I had to, I would identify with the Bear crowd the most. The Bears have in my opinion been the most friendly of all subgroups. They don't seem cliqueish or stuck up as some other subgroups in gay culture They also seem to be the most fun loving. So in honor of The Bears of this city I salute you and hope you have a excellent pride! Be proud my furry brothers! GRRRRR!

Flash Back

20 years ago today I graduated from high school. Now high school wasn't the most pleasant experience for me. Being called fag, homo, all the standard remark high schoolers make. I used to hate walking in those doors everyday anticipating the torment but I survived. I had a few freinds that no matter what stood by me and I will always be grateful to that. To all the others I want to thank you also for making me stronger. To know that no matter what is thrown at me I can make it. I hold no grudges, We were kids in a small midwestern town and that was 20 years ago. I hope your thoughts on gays have changed and I hope you have opened your hearts. Remember your child could be in my place as we speak. Love them, support them and let the ignorance of youth give way to the wisdom of age.

Madonna Monday.

20 years ago this week "Vogue" was the #1 song in the country. I remember hearing the song the first time while driving in my BFF in high school Polly's car. I immediately went to the Kmart in Newton, Kansas and bought the cassette of "I'm Breathless". It was a big week for us because on that following weekend was our high school graduation so this song holds a special place in my heart. "Vogue" is one of Madonn'a biggest selling singles and in my opinion one of her greatest. It has been revived by "Glee"'s Sue Sylvester having her own rendition of the song on the shows "Power of Madonna" episode. Goes to show you a classic never dies.

The Tribe Has Spoken

Tonight is the finale of " Survivor; Heroes Vs. Villians" I must admit that this has been one of the best season of the show in while. Unfortunately most of my favorites are long gone. Stephenie, Sugar, Rupert, and Amanda did not outplay, outlive or outlast. My prediction for the final 3 are Sandra, Russell, and Parvarti with Sandra becoming the first person to win Survivor twice. Even though Russell to me is the best player this game has had in a long time, I believe that his bully tactics will not sit well with members of the jury. We shall see!
On the home front we spent yesterday afternoon at Lincoln park zoo. It was fun. This is the second time I had been there but the first time I actually saw the animals. the first time I went it was winter and we went to see the holiday lights. The cool thing about Lincoln Park Zoo is that it is free and we are all about the free activities in the city.
On the job front I am still on the search. I have become very frustrated in the lack of responses to applications I have put in. Right now I am waiting on approval for a waiver from the state of Il. to work in the healthcare field. If you have read this blog you know that I ran into some legal trouble last year and got a record. So to work in the State of Il in the health care field they have to give a waiver allowing you to work in the field with a criminal record. My application has been submitted and right now I am waiting for a committe to meet to either approve or deny my request. I hope that I hear something by the end of the week. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

REBIRTH

It has been almost 8 months since I wrote in this blog. A lot has changed and I won't go into everything. I now live in Chicago and am dating somebody new. My ex in Phoenix and I are working on maintaining a friendship which I hope to never lose. I have lived in Chicago since Dec. I love the city and am still getting used to knowing my way around. As I said a lot had happened and eventually I will share it all. For now it is good to be back blogging. Hopefully I will maintain my blog a bit better this time. Stay Tuned!
